(SoLR-S:449-53) RESEARCHER'S NOTE: It is likely that the William Malone here was the uncle to George Malone. George's father Robert Malone had died when he was only about 6 or 7 years old and it seems that his uncle was caring for him and getting him started with a farm and provisions. It is possible that this was another William Malone with relation to George, however (perhaps his older brother).
In 1810, he is head of household in Somerset Co. with 40010-00010-03. In the 1820 Census, George Malone is head of household in Wicomico Hundred, Somerset Co. with 321110-20110-06. He is near households of Robert Hitch, George P. Jones, Sarah Stewart and James Jones. In 1840, he is in the Middle District of Somerset with 0101100100000-0000100000000. These listings suggest he was born in the 1780-84 range. George Malone is listed in the 1850 Census Mortality Schedule as having died in Jun 1849 of palsy at age 67 thus narrowing his birth year to 1781/82.
On Oct 26 1815, George Malone had the tract "Addition" surveyed for him. It was for 9.5a and borders "Fitzwaters Study," "Goslees Lot," "Goslees Chance" and "Sand Ridge" and sits on the west side of modern-day Upper Ferry Road just south of the intersection with Walnut Tree Road.
When Peter Malone wrote his will in August of 1820, he placed his brother George Malone as executor so we know Peter was his brother. (SoW-JP4:004) He is listed as the administrator of Peter Malone's estate on Nov 14 1820 (SoOCP-1811/23:112) George Malone is listed in the 1850 Mortality Schedule of the census as age 67 when he died of palsy in Jun 1849 in Somerset Co.

Hitch to get all of his real and personal property divided equally. Witnesses: Alexander C. Hastings, James M. Goslee, Thomas W. Dashiell (SoW-JP5:159).
