In the Somerset County, Maryland Tax Assessment Ledger for 1830, Quantico District, Littleton Hitch assessed for the following: - 2 horses, yoke of oxen, 5 hogs: $95 - 1 bed etc., other property: $15 (SoTA-1830:64)

He is also listed a second time for the following: - 2 horses, yoke of oxen:$105 (SoTA-1830:72)

On Nov 8 1836, the Somerset County Orphans Court Proceedings state, "Jane Hitch, administrator of Littleton Hitch" (SoOCP-1829/38:326), Also, on Jun 6 1837, the Somerset County Orphans Court Proceedings state, "Jane Hitch, administrator of Littleton Hitch" (Ibid:355). On Apr 3 1838, the Somerset County Orphans Court Proceedings states, "Orphan: John T. and Joshua L. Hitch (of Littleton) - Appointed Guardian: Jane Hitch - Sureties: William S. Dashiell, Elisha Owens" (SoOCP-1829/38:381) The same record states, for Apr 24 1838, "Jane Hitch, administrator of Littleton Hitch" (Ibid:384)

On Apr 24 1838, Littleton Hitch's accountant, Jane Hitch, brought forth the amount of inventory of his estate, $1403.85. After this was adjusted for additions and payments, the amount totaled $1666.84 from which wre due to John McDaniel (county levy), John Leatherbury (county levy), Joshua Hitch, Thomas Hitch, Benjamin J. Dashiell, Parsons White, Josephus Humphriss, George W. Hitch, Molly Hitch, Robert Dashielll (for a plow), Charles Davis (blacksmith), Isaac Nichols (for shoes), Freeny & Parsons, Purnell Toadvine & Co., Thomas Stone (for medical services), George Todd (for merchandise), William H. Collier (for loom), Elijah Parsons (for potatoes), William F. Dashiell (book accounting), Peggy K. Irving, John Parsons & Co., George Twilley (for coffin), and John S. Zieber. After payments, the new amount was $1087.79¼. Distributions were then made on Apr 24 1838 as follows:
- to widow; 1/3 part...$362.59¾
- to son John T. Hitch; 1/3 of 2/3 (sic)...$362.59¾
