Sarah Reddish
(1782-After 1860) |
Sarah Reddish 2 3
These branches of the Hitch, Jones and Reddish families moved back and forth between Somerset Co., MD and Genesee Co., NY (modern Wyoming Co.) in the early 1800s and beyond. Naming patterns for children and grandchildren of John/Sarah Jones and domicile proximities make the evidence that Sarah Jones's maiden name was Reddish and NOT Nicholas as some extant genealogies suggest. This compiler rates this highly probable/near certain that she is the daughter of Nicholas Reddish. Sarah married (?) Moore about 1795. ((?) Moore died before 1797.) Sarah next married John Jones Sr., son of George Jones and Sarah Harris, on 07 Sep 1797 in Somerset Parish, Somerset Co., MD.1 (John Jones Sr. was born about 1779 in Somerset Co., MD 1 and died on 19 Jun 1849 in Somerset Co., MD 1.) |
