Florence Elizabeth Elliott

Florence Elizabeth Elliott Bryan, was the seventh child and youngest daughter of Samuel Webb and Martha Elizabeth Smack Elliott. She married Joseph Henry Clay Bryan, January 15, 1922. She was the mother of two daughters, Anna Louise Bryan Charles who died January 24, 1997 and Thelma Elena Bryan Brown. Florence was a homemaker, a fabulous cook, and who enjoyed crossword puzzles, knitting and pinochle. Florence never learned to drive a car.

Florence divided her time in the summers caring for her grandchildren at Lewes, by the beach and in during the rest of the year in Wilmington with Joe. The statement had been made many times that what they enjoyed most their time with the grandchildren. She is survived by her youngest daughter, five granddaughters and one grandson, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Arthur Lee Elliott, Raymond Elliott, and sister Maude Elliott Lynch and three infant siblings.

Florence married Joseph Henry Clay Bryan, son of Alpha Wilbur Bryan and Ethel Elena Wheatley, on 15 Jan 1922 in Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE.¹ (Joseph Henry Clay Bryan was born on 19 Dec 1902 in Reliance, MD,¹ died on 02 Jan 2000 in Lewes, Sussex Co., DE and was buried on 06 Jan 2000 in Bethel UM Church, Lewes, Sussex Co., DE.)
