On Dec 15 1786, Sarah & William Smullen purchase from Jesse Fooks, 72a, part of "Duncastle" for 15 pounds. It is described as begininning at a marked red oak at the run of a branch that is divison between Jesse Fooks and Samuel Davis heirs and three perches from the fourth angles of afsd tract the, S32E4; S24E14; S60E16; S35E12; S21E34; S20E14; S92; S86W59; N6.75E147; right line to beginning (WoLR-M:22).
On Sep 2 1789, William Smullen of Worcester, son of Nathaniel, sold 72a, part of "Duncastle" to Eli Smullen for 54 pounds (WoLR-N:159). This is no doubt, the tract that Sarah and William Smullen purchased from Jesse Fooks in 1786 and which is the land that the Smullen Cemetery sits today that contains Eli Smullen and his descendants (2017).
In the 1800 census, William is in Worcester Co. with household as 01110-21100, next to Ephraim with 0200?-11201. The elder female in the household may be his mother Sarah Smullen.
