bullet  Notes:

In the 1790 census, William Smullen is listed in Worcester Co. with 2 males over age 16, 1 under age 16 and 3 females.

William Smullen has surveyed and patented three separate land tracts: "Addition to Indian Range" for 83a on Nov 24 1789, "Branch Lot" on Jul 16 1792 for 26a, and a resurvey of "Branch Lot" called "Addition to Branch Lot" for 64a on Mar 25 1797. On Nov 28 1792, William Smullen gives for 10 pounds and natural love and affection, land "Addition" to Ephraim Smullen adjoining William's tract "Indian Ridge" (WoLR-O:626)

On Aug 24 1797, William Smullen sells to Peter Smullen and John Scarborough (son of Samuel), for 5 pounds, 50a of land called "Smullens Puzzle" originally surveyed for a certain Randall Smullen. (WoLR-S:3) [Compiler's note: this is "Puzzle" for Randall Smullen, s/o Randall Jr., surveyed on Aug 3 1762. Since no records show it being sold in the interim, it might be assumed that Randall had died intestate and the heir at law was his oldest brother, this William Smullen]

In the 1800 census, William is in Worcester Co. with household as 30001-30001, next to Ephraim with 30001-50001.

On Oct 8 1802, William Smullen sells Peter Smullen land 58a total, "Indian Ridge" and part of "Addition to Indian Ridge" and 34a of "Branch Lot" and "Addition" for 50 pounds (WoLR-V:233).

William Smullen's will was written on Oct 11 1792 and proven on Dec 18 1804 in Worcester Co. (WoW-6:200) In it, he mentions the following provisions:
- To son Peter Smullen, all of my tract "Indian Ridge"
- To son Randall Smullen, 20a of land part of "Branch Lot"
- To son Ephraim Smullen, 6a part of "Branch Lot"
- To daughter Comfort Smullen, one bed and furniture
- To daughter Scarborough Smullen, one bed and furniture
- To daughter Sally Smullen, one bed and furniture
- remainder to my four youngest children.
Appoint son Ephraim Smullen executor.

A distribution of the estate is given in the Orphan's Court Apr 1813 session (WoOCP-MH17:160).
