James Jones had the 163a tract "Jenkins Mistake" surveyed for him on May 10 1734, a resurvey of "Coxes Mistake."

James Jones disappears from the Somerset Tax Lists after 1738 and is replaced by Catherine Jones in 1739. Inventory of his estate conducted on Jun 15 1739 by Laws and George Irving with next of kin John Jones and Catherine Jones. Mary Jones made oath Nov 10 1739 (MdInv-24:332). His account was settled at 252.6.8 on Jun 13 1741 by admin Mitchell Jones and his wife Mary. It lists his children as William, Levin, Matthias and Sarah Jones to get their share after the widow gets her thirds. Sureties were Robert and Daniel Jones. (MdAcc-18:239)
