William Jones had the tract "Jones Choice" surveyed for him on Mar 20 1663/64 for 500a, he received a patent on Mar 22 1665/66.

William made a will in Aug 1689 and is was proven in Jun 1690 in Somerset Co, MD. In it, he mentions his loving brothers George Mitchell and George Betts to be overseers; (the former married Isabel Higgins; the latter married Bridget Bozman, daughter of William and Bridget Bozman and sister of George Bozman who married William Jones' widow, Jane.) He devised to sons William and Daniel 20 shillings sterling and a gold ring each, to John Jones the plantation on Little Monie Creek between lands of George Mitchell and John Painter, widow Jane plantation where he lived which was next to Levin Denwood and son John Jones and after her death to son George, son Robert land on west side of Poplar Branch between brother John's lines and George Mitchell's, negro to daughter Margaret, and daughter Elizabeth a share of the personal estate (SoJ-1690/91:017)
