*Highly speculative inference that Rebecca is a Porter. There is some circumstantial evidence suggesting that she might be related to Samuel Porter. Very tentative. Regardless, this Rebecca (who may be nee Porter), is this compiler's 6th great grandmother (married 1st, Thomas Smack) and step 7th great grandmother (married 2nd, Edmund Cropper).

On Jun 8 1775, Rebecca Smock, widow and executrix of Thomas Smock, sold land in "Partnership" to James Wilson (all of Worcester) for 88 pounds. This was land granted to John Smock Sr. by Lord Proprietary in 1763 totaling 472a and part was sold by John Smock Sr. to his brother Thomas Smock, lately dec'd, in 1766 that totaled 88a. Thomas sold 44a to Solomon Collins and bequeathed the remaining 44a to James Wilson. (WoLR-I:607)

On Jun 3 1788, Edmund Cropper (Crapper) and his wife Rebecca filed a quit-claim deed in the Worcester land records relinquishing their rights to land a 'third part' of "Conveniency" to Levi Smack. (WoLR-M:369). This seems to be Rebecca's dower 'thirds' that she obtained from her husband Thomas Smack in his LWT who died in 1775. In that LWT, Thomas Smack declared that his wife Rebecca would get his 'dwelling plantation' which at her death or marriage was to go to son Levi Smack. This land record of quit-claim deed formally transfers the land to Levi as it appears that Rebecca Smack had remarried to Edmond Cropper (as Crapper) by 1788 and, also, it is probably when Levi Smack reaches age 21.
