bullet  Notes:

*There are two John Jones's described in John Jones's will who died in 1849 - one is "my wife's daughter's son, John Jones, alias McKee" and just son John Jones. The former seems to be a son of Sarah (Reddish) Jones through a prior marriage who had a daughter who possibly married a McKee/McGee. Then John Jones adopted him as his own after he married his wife in 1797. The other son is simply John Jones, son of John and Sarah (Reddish) Jones. It is believed that the John M. Jones Jr., age 25, listed in the 1850 Census is John MCKEE/MCGEE Jones referred to in the 1849 will and John Jones, age 46, is the other John Jones (s/o John Jones) in that will. Both were sons of Sarah (Reddish) Jones.

His death certificate notes he died Apr 11 1903 in Mt. Vernon, Somerset Co. Cause of death listed is general debility and paralysis at age 78. Attending physiciam was Dr. Daniel Morris in Princess Anne. His son Charles Jones was the informant and Britannia Jones is shown as his wife but he was a widoer at time of death. His occupation is listed as an oysterman.

An inventory of the personal possessions of John M. Jones was conducted by administrator Charles W. Jones on May 6 1903 in Somerset Co. It consisted of:
- 1 bureau.........$2.50
- 1 Table............$2.50
- 5 Stool Chairs....$1.00
- 1 in Safe..........$1.50
- 1 Bedstead........$1.50
