In the Federal Census of 1870, Thomas Hitch is indicated in household 50 in the Hangary Neck District, Somerset County, Maryland living with the Barbon family as follows: - Thomas Hitch, age 23, farm laborer - Alphonus Hitch (female), age 18, seamstress - Sorin Barbon, age 44 - Elizabeth Barbon, age 40 - Mary Barbon, age 6 - Laura Barbon, age 4 - William Barbon, age 6 months - Susan Barbon, age 50 All were born in Maryland.
A Thomas Hitch married Emily Cantwell on July 10, 1878 and a Thomas Hitch married Indianna Cantwell on October 22, 1884. I believe these are the same Thomas Hitch and perhaps sister Cantwells. Emily probably died between 1880 and 1884 and Indiana, possibly aka Annie, is probably the Annie Hitch that died December 27, 1904.
