Salisbury Times, October 7, 1958: Funeral services for Paul Hitch, 65, who was found dead on the Pennsylvania Railroad tracks on the underpass at E. Main and S. Salisbury Blvd. Sunday morning, will be held tomorrow at 3 p.m. from Grace Methodist Church of which he was a member. Police believed Mr. Hitch had been struck by a train. The Rev. J. J. VonHagel, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Minnie Hitch; his daughter, Mrs. Anna M. Robinson of Salisbury; two grandchildren, Mrs. Shirley Tingle of Salisbury and James Robinson, also of Salisbury; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. William Bennett of Salisbury; and one brother, Linwood Hitch of Wilmington. His parents were the late Thomas and Annie Cantwell Hitch of Salisbury. Mr. Hitch had retired after being employed by the J. I. Wells Co. Friends may call at the Holloway Funeral Home tonight after 7:30 p.m. and at Grace Church tomorrow from 2 to 3 p.m.
