The last will and testament or the appointments of Ann Gilliss of Somerset County in the Province of Maryland in Relation to a Marriage Contract wherein Thomas Gilliss of Somerset County contracted before Marriage with the said Leckie to dispose of ,500 of her own Estate to such purposes as she the said Ann Leckie should think Fitt According to which agreement the said Ann Leckie now Ann Gilliss doth make appointments as follows:
To my only son Nicholas Evans: the value of ,350, part of the ,500, in the following form: 6 silver spoons marked ALA, 7 silver tea spoons (6 marked ALA), 10 leather chairs, 2 chests of drawers, 2 desks, large copper, and the remainder of the household, furniture stock and a proportionable part of the Remainder part of the Negroes. Negro boys Joe and Nehemiah; Negro man Southey; Negro woman Fortain.
Husband Thomas Gilliss to pay Nicholas Evans the amount when he shall be in a capacity to receive.
To son-in-law Thomas Jones and Susanna Jones (wife of Thomas): the value of the remainder of the ,500 mentioned in the agreement as follows: Negro man Robin, Negro girl Judah; chest of drawers that stands in the Parlour Chamber and the remainder of the household furniture and stock. One moiety of a tract of land devised to me by my former husband Alexander Leckie, where Thomas and Susanna now live. The tract to be divided between Susanna and Nicholas Evans both in quantity and quality by the administration of Thomas Gilliss and Col. George Dashiell.
