Joshua Pollitt's will was written in 1815 and probated in Worcester County on Nov 30 1820 and leaves to wife Sarah, "lands where I now dwell." To children Peter Pollitt, Thomas Pollitt, William Pollitt, Samuel Pollitt, Jane Pollitt, Mary Allegood. Witnesses Jacob Morris of Jacob (who is deceased by 1820), John E. Pollitt, William Pollitt (also deceased by 1820). (WoW-MH:449)
On Apr 13 1830, Joshua W. Hitch, with John S. Stevenson, provided sureties for orphans John R., David J., Joshua Hitch, and George H. Sturgis (all of James) where Sarah Sturgis was appointed guardian (She was apparently Sarah Hitch Pollitt Sturgis) (WoOCP-LPS7:115-116)
Joshua married Sarah (Sally) Hitch, daughter of Joshua A. Hitch and Mary (Molly) Taylor, about 1792 in MD. (Sarah (Sally) Hitch was born about 1777 in Somerset Co., MD and died after 1830 in Worcester Co., MD.)
