Thomas Pollitt "of Somerset" purchased the 400a tract "Holdfast" on Sep 30 1769 from Richard Hall/Hull of Northumberland Co., VA (WoLR-H:190)

Thomas Pollitt wrote his will on Sep 11 1788 and it was proven in Somerset Co. on Oct 14 1788:
- To son Thomas land tract called "Trouble" and part of "Dentory" granted to William Alexander and John Parsons and another tract called "Fox Hall", and negro woman Silby
- To son William, part of tract "Holdfast" and "Chestnut Hall" both in Worcester Co., also a cow and yearling, one heifer, a book called Burket on the New Testament
- To son Samuel, part of tract "Holdfast" next to land given to son William Pollitt, also a cow and yearling, one heifer, my big Bible and feather bed/furniture
- To son Joshua, negro man Saul, negro woman Hannah and her two children Leah and Milly, three head of cattle, a feather bed/furniture
- To son Levin atract of land called "Johns Hitt"
- To grandson Levin Morris, negro boy Daniel, son William to hold him until grandson comes of age. If Levin Morris dies before, then William to hold him until Jacob Morris' children by his first wife come of age the Daniel to presented to one of them per the direction of my sons Thomas, William and Samuel
- To my three younger children Easter, Levin and Jenny, five negroes Robin, Vilet, Frost, Harry and Lewey to be divided equally
- To daughter Easter Pollitt my riding bay horse
- To daughter Jenny Pollitt my gray horse
- Rest of personal estate to be divided between two sons Joshua and Levin and two daughters Easter and Jenny Pollitt all equally
- son Thomas to be sole executor
