In 1759, John Malone was named as the father of a bastard child of Rachel Evans (SoJ-1757/60:234).

On Mar 21 1760, John Malone purchased 83a of land called "Turkey Ridge" from Joseph and Martha Dashiell (SoLR-C:044). By 1783, this land was in the hands of Mary Malone, presumably John Malone's wife.

On Dec 15 1762, John Malone had land surveyed for him called "Malones Venture" for 20.75a and "Malones Lot" for 79.25a. Both of these tracts are just on the west side of modern Allen, MD in Wicomico County. He expanded the latter tract and called it "Addition to Malones Lot" for 156a surveyed on Aug 8 1771 and patented Aug 28 1792 (patent received evidently posthumously).

John Malone sold 100a of land tract "Goddards Folly" to Robert Malone on Mar 15 1768 which likely implies that John, as elder son of Robert Malone (b c1700), inherited the land and was transferring it to his brother Robert Malone (b1736). The son Robert (John's brother) had this land resurveyed on Nov 27 1767, for the 100a portion of "Goddards Folly" his father had purchased in 1737 and called the new tract "Malones Chance" for 115.5a. On it is listed the following improvements: 118 small peach trees, an old round log'd house 16x9, 7 small apple trees, 100 panels of old fence 7 logs high and 5 acres of cultivated land. (SoLR-D:181)
