Edward C. Hitch
Edward Hitch enlisted to serve for 3 years and became a Private in Company K of the 89th Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. On Sep 20 1863, he was captured and taken prisoner at the Battle of Chickamauga, Georgia. He died five months later (on Feb 25 1864) of typhoid pneumonia while a prisoner-of-war in Danville, Virginia. |
