On Nov 24 1796, it was indicated in a land record that Clement Ross of Northwest Fork Hundred, Sussex Co., DE is a son of Anthony Ross. Anthony basically deeded eight tracts to Clement Ross for minimal consideration; BLACK LEVEL, ROSSES CHOICE, ROSSES LOT, ROSSES FIELD, ROSSES CROSS, WHITE LEVEL, ROSSES LUCK and SAVE ALL. 15 Jan 180800 Apr 1808 Clement Ross "being sick and weak in body . . ." Bequeaths to: 1. Sarah Ross --wife to have the testator's gray horse and carriage, to have Negro girl "Sidney" over and above her dower or third part of the estate in the case she remains single after the testator's death and also to have all that she brought with her into the marriage as if the testator had died intestate. Named executrix of the will 2. Elizabeth Ross --daughter to have 1 feather bed and furn., 1 cow and calf 3. Mary Ross --daughter, to have Negro girl "Lydda" to have 1 bed and furn., 1 cow and calf 4. Lovey Adams --daughter to have no more of the estate over and above what has already been given her. 5. Nancy Ross --daughter to have Negro girl "Ritta" to have 1 bed and furn., 1 cow called "Blossom" and her increase 6. Robert Ross --son to have 264 acres of land including the testator's dwelling plantation to be laid off for him by a line drawn beginning at the easternmost extremity or out line of the testator's tract of land called "Rosses Choice" and running west across the said land toward the state line, to have Negro boys "Jerry" and "John", to have the 2nd choice of the testator's horses and $20.00 specie residue of the estate to be divided among Robert and daughters Sally and Maria equally 7. Maria Ross --daughter to have all the residue of the lands given to Robert up to the said division line cont. 160 acres to have 1 bed and furn., 1 cow and calf 8. Sally Ross --daughter to have the lands the testator purchased from Abraham Ross and Anthony Ross lying in Caroline County on the road from Marshy Hope to the North West Fork Bridge cont. 175 acres to have Negro boy "Henry" to have 1 cow and calf and $16.00 specie 9. John Collins --father-in-law named executor along with testator's widow Witnesses: Olive Jump, Huitt Ross, Garry Hitch, Then came: Hughitt Ross.
