Henry Bascom Hitch was then residing at Sunflower, Miss. (Sunflower Co.) 'As I said in the beginning I was but a kid when we left Laurens Co., just at the beginning of the Civil War. …So you see I am a great-grnadpa.' After the death of his oldest daughter, Henry Bascom Hitch took her two boys and raised them. These boys married and had children."
