In 1842, Cannon W. Hitch is listed in Somerset County in Election District 7, Trappe, as Cannon W. Hitch, 1842: - To House & Lot near Upper Trappe: $50 - To 2 hogs, 1 bed, etc., other: $20; Total $70 (Somerset Co. Assessment Ledger 1841-1852, Folio 37)
The 1840 Federal Census lists Cannon Hitch as age 20-30 in Somerset County, MD.
Cannon Hitch apparently died after his listing in the 1842 tax records but before the 1850 Census.
