William Sutton

Listed as "William Sutten" in the 1800 Wicomico Hundred, Somerset Co., MD Census as 01001-01301. Very elusive person - does not show in land patents, wills, accounts, etc. He is listed in the 1798 Somerset Tax List as occupying a house owned by Dr. Charles Nutter on Wicomico Creek between Thomas HJamilton and William Cottman. Small dwelling house, 16x14 with Quarters 14x12; 589 acres, $2965. Maybe he was only here a short period of time around 1795-1805.
