Maude Virginia Elliott

Maude Virginia was born the second daughter of five children to Arthur Lee and Helen May Shiles Elliott. In 1936 Maude married Harold Wilson Unruh. They had seven living children, Sharon, Gwynne, Timothy, Jennifer, Gretchen, Lorna and Mark. The Trinity Methodist Church claimed that they were the only married couple devoting time and talents to the youth. Maude was active in the Girls Scouts while Hal was active in the Boy Scouts starting in 1944. Maude was kind to all and loved children. She was survived by her children and their families and sisters Rae and Betty. She was preceded in death by her infant sister Jeanette and brother Arthur Lee, Jr.

Maude married Harold Wilson Unruh, son of Joseph Lee Unruh and Georgianna Guild, on 05 Sep 1936 in Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE.¹ (Harold Wilson Unruh was born on 15 Feb 1915 in Bridgeville, Sussex Co., DE,³ died on 15 Jul 1999 in Gila, NM and was buried about 18 Jul 1999 in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE.)
