*James Washington Jones is nearly certain a son of Thomas Hamilton Jones. Lots of circumstantial evidence on proximity of where the families lived and naming patterns in the families support but it is not yet proven definitively.
In 1850, he is indicated as a fisherman. In 1870, he shows as a farmer who owns no real estate. On Aug 14 1888, Louisa Jones and her husband James Jones sold 4a of land in Wicomico Co., MD to Samuel A. Jones for $25. Land is in the 7th Election District and is bordered by lands of Thomas Brumbley, Hester Jones, William F. Disharoon and T.W. Banks. (WiLR-FMS:251)
Thus, he was still alive in Aug 1888 but he does not show in the 1900 census.
James married Louisa J. Turner, daughter of William E. Turner and Sarah Disharoon, on 28 Apr 1846 in Somerset Co., MD. (Louisa J. Turner was born in 1824-1826 in Somerset Co., MD,6 7 8 9 died on 04 Aug 1895 in Wicomico Co., MD and was buried about 07 Aug 1895 in St. John's Methodist Church Cemetery, Fruitland, Wicomico Co., MD.)
