On Oct 4 1822, Thomas Hamilton Jones and Leah his wife deeded land in Somerset Co. to Tubman Jones for 5 shillings, land in tract "Second Addition To Hog Quarter" which Elizabeth Pollitt, wife of Littleton Pollitt, died intestate and Thomas was one of the heirs. (SoLR-JD7:428) (NOTE: Elizabeth Pollitt was his mother who had remarried to Littleton Pollitt after his father passed away.)
On Jul 23 1823, Thomas Hamilton Jones sold to Molly Miles land in Somerset Co.,188a, parts of tracts "Chance" and "Addition To Chance" that was willed to him by Matthias Miles. (SoLR-GH1:229)
In 1840 Census, Thos. H. Jones is listed next to Levin Pollitt and William Morris and near William Hitch, Margaret Turner, Robert Stewart, John McGrath, etc. with a household of 0110010000000-11000100000. This places him dead in the middle of the area where James Washington Jones and William J. Jones later lived and with male household members that fit their ages. Very high probability that Thomas Hamilton Jones was father to these two.
He is listed in the 1850 census with his family but his wife Leah is alone in 1860 and 1870 suggesting he died sometime in the years 1851-1859.
Thomas married Leah Sarah Pusey, daughter of John Pusey and Sarah Evans, on 02 Jan 1822 in Somerset Co., MD.1 (Leah Sarah Pusey was born in 1803 in MD 4 5 6 and died in 1871-1879 in Somerset Co., MD.)
