Thaddeus M. Templeton (1834-1861) was born in Laurens County and brother to the other three Templetons in this list but the only one not to serve in the 3rd South Carolina Infantry. He enlisted as a Private in Company E, Hampton Legion, South Carolina on Jun 19 1861 for 12 months at Columbia, SC. He shows as present through September 1861 on the muster rolls. Howver, the records state that he died while home on furlough on Oct 19 1861 of typhoid fever. He is buried in the Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Laurens County, SC.
