*Uncertain as to the placement of Major Cropper as they is very little record of his existence save two mentions. One was as a witness to the will of William Selby in 1784 and two, in the Worcester Co., MD Orphans Court records in 1794, when Thomas Cropper of Major is apprenticed. We know that it is highly probable that he is in the Ebenezer Cropper line of Worcester rather than the Nathaniel Cropper line due to family acquaintances and where they lived. It is assumed that he is a son of Edmund Cropper due to the Orphan's Court records associating the Cropper, Smack and Porter families. Edmund Cropper died after Major so he was not in his distribution of property in 1799. This compiler rates the probability VERY HIGH at more than 90% that Major is placed here.
