Abel Abdeel made a will on Oct 14 1782 at Northampton Co., VA and it was proven on Dec 11 1787:
- To son Jacob my 147a plantation whereon I now live; but for want of male heirs to my son Henry; and for want of male heirs to my son Ezekiel.
- To loving wife Nancy bed and furniture, best rug, my loom and all the utensils which belong to it.
- To son Jacob my hand mill, and desire that it may be continued on the Freehold.
- Remaining estate to be divivided by sons Jacob, Henry and Ezekiel and my wife, provided my said wife shall have no children by me. But if wife should have a child by me, then it to have an equal share with my other children and wife.
- Wife and sons Jacob and Henry to be executors.
