William Abdell was named as a heir on Feb 21 1698/99 in Northampton Co, VA. In his will, Morgan Dowell, proven on Jan 28 1700/01, named Elizabeth Teigue (sic, Teague). To Sophia Teigue. To Abigal Teigue. To David Stott. To John Abdell. To Ann Stott. To William and Thomas Abdell 250a to be equally divided, and for want of their heirs to John Abdell, and for want of his heirs to Thomas Teigue's children. To William and Thomas Abdell my horse mill and they to keep it in repair and for the use of their brothers and sisters. William and Thomas Abdell extrs. The land William Abdell inherited in 1701 is Whitelaw tract N96, between Exmore & Nassawadox, VA. In 1701 Morgan Dowell left his 250-acres balance to William and Thomas Abdell, but if either died, a John Abdell was to be next in line; Thomas seems to have died as John became possessed of a part.
William Abdell was named in his brother's will written Sep 18 1721 in Northampton Co. and proven Jan 12 1724. Thomas Abdell, William Abdell and Elizabeth Abdell witnessed the will of John Abdell, wife Elizabeth. (NoVAW-XXIII-R:214)
William Abdell died before May 14 1728 in Northampton Co. when the administration on the estate of William Abdell was granted to Jacob Abdell son of the deceased. (NoVAW-XXIV-O-18:324)
