William Washburn is listed in 1840 in the Middle District, Somerset Co., MD as head of a household 0000100000000-0110010001000. This may suggest William's grandfather (Reuben Washburn?) had died and his mother, age 70-80, was living in hs household. The latter is speculative.

(?) married Reuben Washburn about 1779. (Reuben Washburn was born about 1760 in MD.)
