Randall Smullen had land surveyed for him, 50a called "Puzzle" on Aug 3 1762 (WoPat-Cert:2111). He is listed in the Debt Books as Randall Jr. holding this land 1768-1774. On Aug 24 1797, William Smullen sells to Peter Smullen and John Scarborough (son of Samuel), for 5 pounds, 50a of land called "Smullens Puzzle" originally surveyed for a certain Randall Smullen. (WoLR-S:3) [Compiler's note: this is "Puzzle" for Randall Smullen, s/o Randall Jr., surveyed on Aug 3 1762. Since no records show it being sold in the interim, it might be assumed that Randall had died intestate and the heir at law was his oldest brother, this William Smullen]
