Thomas Marvel's will was written in Sussex Co., DE on Jan 28 1797 and was probated Dec 15 1801. In it, he bequeaths:
- son Thomas Marvel all that lands where he currently lives.
- son Joseph, a parcel of land where son Parker Marvel's platation is cleared if Parker refuses 1/2 of grist mill and two acres of land near it, but, if Parker complies, then Joseph will make proper payment for same.
- son Robert Marvel one yoke of young oxen
- daughter Patience Marvel one cow/calf, one bed and furniture, one blue chest and spinning wheel.
- son Joseph one bed and furniture and he to be executor
- son Obediah, Parker, Stephen, Elisha, Eli, each one shilling
- anything left over goes to Joseph, Robert and Patience.
Thomas married Susanna Rodney, daughter of William Rodney and Mary Hill, about 1760. (Susanna Rodney was born in 1742 in Somerset Co., MD and died before 1797 in DE.)
