From "A Hitch Orchard," Daisy Hitch Davies, 1931: "He was educated at Patoka, IN. Has been a studious person all his life. Was a railroad fireman on the Southern Railroad as young man. He learned the machinist trade. Followed trade at Danville, IL., Sedalia, MO. and other places. Later he entered the employ of the Pure Oil Co. in the Salks Department. In 1931 was a lubricating engineer for that company for many years. In 1931 resided in Buffalo, NY. Is a Republican and a Mason. He has no children. - Record given by a cousin."
