Regis Joseph Hitch
HITCH - Regis "Joe," 77, Patton, passed away Dec. 5, 2014, at UPMC Altoona. He was born Aug. 13, 1937, in Patton, the son of Regis V. and Eleanor (Schwartz) Hitch. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Elaine R. Hitch, and siblings, Louise Yahner, Betty Dillon, Margaurite Morley, Dolly Alfredson and George Hitch. He is survived by his daughter, Robyn Hitch, and fiance, Terry "Dobo" DiBello, and son, Joe (Linda) Hitch, all of Patton; sister, Martha Whited, Austintown, Ohio; Jake and Jasper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe served in the U.S. Army and then owned and operated a service station in Patton. He also worked for the railroad and later owned and operated Joe's Game Room in Patton for more than 25 years. Joe enjoyed coin collecting and was an avid Buccos and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, Pa. 16668, the Rev. Thaddeus E. Rettger, OSB, officiating. Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton. Regis married Elaine R. Bailey, daughter of (?) Bailey and Edna (?), on 20 Jul 1963. (Elaine R. Bailey was born on 16 May 1941 in Patton, Cambria Co., PA, died on 21 Jul 2013 in Patton, Cambria Co., PA and was buried on 29 Jul 2013 in St. Marys Cemetery, Patton, Cambria Co., PA.) |
