Adam Hitch. St. Augustine, Feb. 16 - Adam Hitch, aged 78, died of pneumonia, Wednesday, at his home where he had been ill two days. He was married twice, his first wife being Anna McCann Hitch and his second wife being Matilda Hitch. Mr. Hitch is survived by the following children: Mrs. Agnes Murphy, Windber; James, Akron, O.; Mrs. Margaret Sincox, Marstellar; Mrs. Mary Hierust, Altoona; Regis, at home; John, Altoona; Mrs. Catherine Krise, Dean; Mrs. Anna Stoltz, Mrs. Grace Wilson and Mrs. Ethel Erhlinger, all of Akron; Mrs. Leona Berhilt, Detroit, Mich., and Marie, Patton. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. John Long, Patton, and 47 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were conducted this morning in St. Augustine's church, with burial in the church cemetery.
John married Ann Agnes Mary McCans, daughter of James P. McCans and Agnes McEnespie, on 24 Jul 1877 in PA. (Ann Agnes Mary McCans was born in 1856 in PA 9 and died on 13 Apr 1891 in Cambria Co., PA.)
