Obedience was born in 1707 at Northampton Co, VA. He was age 36 in 1743, puting his birth at 1707.

Obedience received land as a gift in 1715 at Northampton Co, VA. It was in this year that John White and his second wife Sarah White deeded to his son Obedience White. In 1764 Obedience White, wife Robinson, left to a son of the same name. In 1771 the land of Obedience White was surveyed as 110 acres, for which he received a new patent as "escheated from Sarah White. Then in 1789 Obedience White, wife Elishe, left to his son Teackle White. In 1824 the will of Teagle White directed that this land be sold and 3 years later it was bought by Arthur R. Savage.

Obedience was named in his father's will on 6 May 1718 at Northampton Co, VA. He was shown as a son Obedience (under 21) in the will of John White, wife Ann.

Obedience was named as administrator of an estate on 9 May 1739 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that Obedience Johnson's will was probated and his wife Temperance, the named extr was then dec'd and so Obedience White qualified to settle the estate. Obedience was named as the executor of a will on 4 November 1750 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that friends Thomas Marshall Jr & Obedience White were named Extrs in the will of Isacc Smith Sr.

He made a will on 4 December 1763 at Northampton Co, VA. Whole estate to loving wife (no name) during her widowhood. To son Obedience land and musket, but for want of his heirs to my son Holloweth White. After wife's widowhood estate to be eq. div. by my three youngest children Sarah, Holloweth, and John White. Wife extrx. Witt: William Christian, Obedience Johnson, Jehu Johnson. Obedience died before 10 January 1764 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that his will was probated. The will appointed extrx. was Robinson White. According to Whitelaw Obedience White, wife Robinson, left to a son of the same name. In 1771 the land of Obedience White was surveyed as 110 acres, for which he received a new patent as "escheated from Sarah White.
