He was named in the settlement of his father's estate on 14 September 1736 at Northampton Co, VA. On 2 Sep 1736 an inventory of the orphans' part of the estate of Edmund Joynes after the debts being paid & the widow's dower set apart, showed Major's, Rachel's & Littleton's part were each valued at £4:03:04. It was submitted by Berry Floyd, Arthur Robins & William Jacobs. At a court held on 14 Sep 1736 the division of the estate of Edmund Joynes dec'd was presented in court by Arthur Robins one of the dividers which was ordered to be recorded.
Major Joynes was named in the settlement of his brother's estate on 8 June 1762 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Littleton Joyne was granted to Major Joyne. Appraisers: Watkins Joyne, Thomas Scott, Peter Warren & Henry Guy.
He died before 11 September 1770 at Northampton Co, VA. It was on this date that administration on the estate of Major Joyne was granted to Reuben Joyne. Appraisers: Arthur Robins, William Green, Luke Heath & Thomas Addison.
He was named in the settlement of his brother's estate on 9 February 1773 at Northampton Co, VA. The estate of Littleton Joyne dec'd to Major Joyne, administrator of Lyttleton Joyne. List of debts & credits showing a balance due the estate to be divided between his children William & Sarah of £5:11:7. Pursent to an order of the Court dated 8 Dec 1772 we the subscribers hath audited the said estate according to the accounts laid before us 8 Feb 1773, signed Arthur Robins & Zerobabel Downing. At a Court held at Northampton County 9 Feb 1773 this settlement of the estate of Littleton Joyne dec'd was exhibited & sworn to by Reuben Joyne, administrator of Major Joyne dec'd, who was administrator of the said Lyttleton and was ordered to be recorded.
