*Originally, this compiler had Elizabeth Hopkins as a very uncertain d/o Robert born 1735 that does mention a daughter Betty in his will written on Apr 27 1779. More research seems to suggest that she is daughter of John Hopkins who died in 1766 - he had a yound daughter Elizabeth who was born c1760 to his 2nd wife. A large negative to the Robert hypothesis is that the Robert Hopkins family lived fairly remote from the Gordy household. This placement was more closely situated to the Gordy clan when John Hopkins had surveyed JOHNS CHANCE in Sussex Co. in 1728. Decent probability this connect is correct.
Elizabeth* married Aaron Gordy Sr., son of Moses Gordy and Betty Morris. (Aaron Gordy Sr. was born in 1748 in Worcester Co., MD, died 06 Jun 1812-23 Dec 1814 in Sussex Co., DE 1 and was buried in 1814 in Gordy Family Cemetery, Hearns Crossroads, Sussex Co., DE.)
