William Lemuel Smock

William Smock had land "Smocks Purchase" surveyed for him for 187a on Jul 3 1766 in Worcester Co., MD. and then "Addition to Smocks Purchase" surveyed for him on Oct 25 1771 for 200a, which included "Smacks Purchase" plus 13a of vacant land. This land is in modern-day Wicomico County on Mt. Hermon Road about 2/3rds of the way from Salisbury heading towards Powellvile, MD (2017)
William Smock's will was writtien in Dec 1771 and probated Feb 21 1772 in Worcester Co. where he proclaims:
- To my son-McKimmey Smock, the plantation, where I dwell, the plantation that was my brother Samuel Smock's, being part of "Bachelors Lot," "Mount Ephraim", and the EX.
- To my son Lemuel Smock, the tract on the south side of Thomas Purnell's plantation, part of two tracts called "Pennewells Purchase," and "Smocks Purchase."
- To son William Smock, the balance of the lands, aforesaid.
- To son Kendall Smock, tract on the north side of William Bassett's plantation, "Smocks Purchase" (138a)
- To sons James Smock, Esme Smock, Peter Smock, other.
- To my wife Mary Smock, Executrix.
Witnesses were Ezekiel Porter, Daniel Selby, McKimmey Smock. (WoW-1769/83:135)
