bullet  Notes:

According to Whitelaw, George Bell, great grandfather of Isaac Bell, comes to own 200a of tract N84 in 1680 and he and wife Hannah deed this to sons George and Jeodiah to become effective at their deaths. (Whitelaw, Vol I, page 451). Whitelaw seems to mis-attribute saying that Thomas (elder George's father) assigned this land in 1680 but Thomas had died in 1678 leaving no land to George in his will. It could be htis land goes to George Bell earlier than Whitelaw's datum of 1680. In 1734. Jeodiah and his wife Sarah deeded his part to Ezekiel Bell. George Bell's portion is left to son Joab Bell in 1772 and Joab and wife Keziah left the 100a to son Isaac Bell. Whitelaw states that an 1839 survey showed this as 105a for Edmund Bell. N84 is land located in the modern day (2017) on the seaside including the tiny hamlet of Marionville and to its east, SE of Nassawadox, out towards Red Bank.

Isaac made a will on Jun 27 1815 and it was proven Oct 9 1815 at Northampton Co, VA. I lend unto my son Thomas Bell fifteen acres of land on the north side of my land for & during his life; should his wife survive him then I lend the said fifteen acres aforesaid unto her & her children for & during her life the said fifteen acres of land to be laid off so as to include the house that he now liveth in. I give and bequeath unto my son Edmund Bell all the remainder of my land to him and his heirs forever provided he payeth unto my three daughters Luchreshia, Nancy and Mary Bell the sum of ten dollars. I nominate & appoint my son Edmund Bell executor. Signed with his mark, Isaac Bell. Witnesses: Richards Dunton, Eliza Matthews, Mary Matthews and Lewis Matthews.

His estate was settled on Mar 11 1816 at Northampton Co, VA. Administrator Edmund Bell. Bond $100. Appraisers: Rickards Dunton, Levin Matthews, Anthony Bell and Thomas N. Widgeon. Inventory and Appraisement. Taken on Oct 25 1815. Account of Sales. Audit and Settlement. Edmund Bell, executor. Recorded on Mar 11 1816.
