On 27 Jun 1772, Chase Dorman bought 55a of Nelsons Choice from William Geddes for £35 (SoLR-E:187). On 07 Aug 1772 (54 ac) Chase Dorman sold part of Dormans Conclusion to Levin Ballard, for £10 (SoLR-E:212).
In the 1783 Somerset Tax, he still owned 92a of the tract and 10a of Dormans Discovery and 25 3/4a of Golden Quarter and 55a of Nelsons Choice.
Will written Jun 1 1793 and proven on Jan 31 1797 in Somerset Co., MD - To son, Hezekiah, dwelling plantation and other lands except those given here to sons Jesse and Thomas Chase Dorman - he also to get my blacksmith tools - To son Jesse 60a of land lying on W-most part of Nelsons Choice in a place called Turkey Ridge - To son Thomas Chase Dorman 50a of land that is part of Dormans Conclusion - To daughter Nelly, one negro girl called Milcah - To daughter Leah Dorman, one negro boy called Denwood - To daughter Peggy Dorman, negro girl Anna - To all my children the rest of my estate after my wife's thirds - Beloved wife to be executrix (Sarah) Witnesses: John Done, Francis T.
