Frances (Frankey) Goslee
(Abt 1780-Bef 1820) |
Frances (Frankey) Goslee
A Jan 13 1806 deed (SoLR-Q:122) states that she and her sister were dividing land formerly owned by Samuel Goslee. At first glance, that seems to suggest they are his daughters. More digging proves otherwise. It seems Frances Goslee is not daugther of Samuel, rather she was his sister. Her parents were Joseph and Priscilla Goslee. She was affectionately known as "Frankey" Goslee to her family as she is identified as such in two places. The first is in the will of Joseph Goslee written 1791 and probated 1795 where he leaves his daughter Frankey Goslee her a slave and a mare. He also leaves his "eldest son" Samuel all his land (SoW-EB17:375). Frances married William Malone, son of Robert Malone II and Anne Stevens Kibble, on 05 Nov 1799 in Somerset Co., MD.1 (William Malone was born on 09 Jun 1777 in Somerset Co., MD 2 and died 1850-19 May 1852 in Somerset Co., MD.) |
