William Dryden
(1698/1699-1775/1777) |
William Dryden 1
Notes: On Nov 2 1762, William Dryden purchased 109a of "Drydens Destiny" from his son-in-law and daughter Thomas and Sarah Benston for 15 pounds (SoLR-C:148). He and Thomas Benston then sell the land on Nov 10 1772 to David Dryden the younger (his son, SoLR-E:216). William Dryden was deposed twice in the courts to comment on land boundaries. Once was in Aug 1763 where he gave his age as 65 and next on Apr 15 1765 where he states he was age 66. He also states his father was David Dryden (SoJ-1763/65:90;ibid-1766/67:42). It seems William died sometime after Jun 20 1775 when he and his son, David's widow, Mary, signed the inventory of David's estate (SoInv-EB15:535) but before a codicil for that inventory was signed on Apr 8 1777 (MDInv-126:182). William married (?) (?) between 1725 and 1727.1 |
