Obituary of Jesse E. Brown from the "Peoria Journal Star", AM EX, page A-8, Thursday, Nov 9, 1961 Jesse E. Brown Jesse Elmer Brown, 59, of 206 Oakwood Ave., Highway Village, East Peoria, died at 2:15 p.m. Wednesday at his residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Sunnyland Christian Church, the Rev. Darrell Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Gardens, near Morton. Visitation will be from 2 p.m., Friday in Ludwig Mortuary, Morton. The body will lie in state for one hour before services. He was born Oct. 11, 1902, in Peoria, the son of Mr. And Mrs. Elmer Brown. He was married June 10, 1922, in Eureka to Mabel Hefler, who survives. Also surviving are three sons: Lawrence Brown of New Carisle, Ohio, Earl Brown of Morton and Ralph Brown of East Peoria; two daughters: Mrs. James Tubbett [sic] of Washington and Mrs. Robert Davis of Fairbury, and 15 grandchildren. Two sons preceded him in death.
