James H. Robinson
Pittsville-James Herman Robinson, 79, of Pittsville, died on Thursday, November 5, 2015 at his home. Born in Salisbury on August 2, 1936, he was the son of the late Herman J. Robinson and Anna Mae Hitch Robinson.
James owned and operated Herman's and Son Service Station and Wrecker Service for many years. James also worked alongside his wife in her ceramic shop, painting many of the items she sold. He played a pertinent role in the success of Robinson Speed Shop. He enjoyed any outdoor activities including; hunting, fishing, boating, kart racing. He also enjoyed painting and wood carving. Throughout his entire life, James joked with everyone he met, including the nurses that cared for him near the end of his life.
James is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothea Robinson; two sons, Ronnie Robinson and his wife Becky of Salisbury and Steve Robinson and his wife Judy of Salisbury; two grandchildren, RJ Robinson and his wife Heather of Fruitland and Kate Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Faith and Mallory; a sister, Shirley Tingle and her husband Bob of Delmar and a niece, June Rachels.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Wicomico Memorial Park. Rev. Steve Wagner will officiate.
