Mrs. Donahue had owned and operated an antiques store in St. Charles for 10 years. She was past director of volunteers for American Red Cross; and was 1962 Business Woman of the Year in St. Charles.

Among the survivors are a son, Howard Smith of Wildwood, Fla.; a sister, Betty Smith of Wilmington, Del.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Rae married Howard Nelson Smith Sr., son of George W. Smith and Maggie M. Alexander. (Howard Nelson Smith Sr. was born in 1907 in Wilmington, New Castle Co., DE ⁴ ⁵.)
