An obituary from a 1945 newspaper in Cambria Co., PA:

Mrs. Anna Long Dies at Patton. Mrs. Anna Barbara (Hitch) Long, 97, one of Cambria county's oldest residents, died at 11:50 o'clock Friday night (21 Dec 1945) at her home in Patton. She has 202 living descendants. Included are seven children, 65 grandchildren, and 130 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Long was born near Winterset on July 8, 1848, a daughter of Peter and Carrie Hitch. She was baptized at St. Michael's Church, Loretto. Married to John W. Long at Carrolltown on January 13, 1874, the couple resided at Beaver Dam for 27 years before locating to Patton. Mr. Long died in 1936. Mrs. Long was the mother of eight children, seven of whom are living as follows: Mrs. A.W. Smithbower, Loretto; John F. Long, Ebensburg, supervising principal of the Prince Gallitzin School District; Joseph Long, Steamboat Springs, Colo.; Mary, wife of Harry Owens; Minnie, wife of J. T. Link; Mrs. Agnes B(G)auntner and Geo. Long, all of Patton. A number of the aged woman's grandsons served in World War II. One of them, Sgt. Clement E. Link, of Patton, R.D., was killed in action in Italy in 1944. Funeral services were conducted at 10 o'clock Monday morning with a high mass of requiem at St. George's Catholic Church. Rev. Father Alexis Horvath, O.S.B., was the celebrant of the mass. Interment was in St. Mary's cemetery.
