Her obituary appeared in the Semi-Weekly News in Barren Co., Kentucky on August 14, 1899. It stated, "Mrs. Richard Hitch died at the home of her son John Hitch, Horse Cave, Thursday night of consumption, age 64. Daughter of Mrs. Caroline Allen who died at Horse Cave the week before last, and widow of Dick Hitch who died at Park last spring. Interment is at the family burying ground on the old Drury Roberts farm near Park."
