Elmer Thomas Johnson Sr.

Elmer Thomas Johnson Sr. , 78 , of Salisbury died Thursday , Sept. 23 , 2004 , at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury Born in Salisbury , he was a son of Elmer Johnson St the late Archibald and Lula Hitch Johnson . Mr. Johnson was a member of Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department and the Salisbury Moose Lodge . He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict . He was a lifelong farmer and loved gardening . He was a skilled glazing mechanic for Charles Brown Glass Co. for 28 years , retiring in 1987. Following his retirement he devoted his time and energy into helping his son in his business , Eastern Shore Forest Products . He was known for his strong dedication to his family and friends . He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years , Clara Annabel Johnson of Salisbury ; two children , Elizabeth " Betsy " Johnson Bradford and her husband , Michael , and Elmer T. " Tom " Johnson Jr. and his wife , Anita ; two grandchildren , Bryan Bradford and Lindsey Fay Johnson ; a sister , Susie Nuse , and a brother . Robert Johnson , all of Salisbury : and several nieces and William , Welton , Orville and Louis Johnson ; and a sister , Bessie Abbott . A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home , with visitation one hour prior to the service . The Rev. Ike Ledger will officiate . Interment will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury In lieu of flowers , contributions may be made in his memory to the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department , PO Box 70 , Fruitland , Md . 21826 .
