He signed the Loyalty Oath to King William and his Protestant regime on Nov 28 1689, Somerset Co MD. (Torrence, Old Somerset, p. 350). On Nov 9 1690, Robert Nearne, John Strawbridge and John West were bound to serve their Majesties as a Naval officer. Witnesses were James Sangster and Peter Dent. (Rebecca Miller, Somerset County MD Judicial Records 1690-1692, Princess Anne, MD, Miller's Choice, p. 8). Robert was named in the will of John Galbraith on Aug 12 1691 and was given as "my well beloved friend Robert Nearn of Manokin the sum of 10,000 pounds of pork." Reverends Francis Makemie and Thomas Wilson were given 5,000 pounds of pork and the rest of goods chattels, debts, houses, land, etc. to well beloved friend Major Robert King (executor). Robert was also a witness to the will. (Rebecca Miller, Somerset County MD Judicial Records 1690-1692, Princess Anne, MD, Miller's Choice, p. 13). Robert Nearen was a witness to the will of Nicholas Carpenter on Nov 2 1693, Somerset. (Vernon Skinner, Other Wills in the Prerogative Court for Somerset & Worcester 1664-1775, Brookeville, MD, 1988, p.3). Ann Hunt, indentured servant of Robert Nairn, appeared Coventry Parish, Somerset Co. MD in 1712 having born a bastard man child by a Negro man. She received 30 lashes and Robert with Samuel Worthington paid 8,000 pounds of tobacco for her bond. The child of Ann Hunt would serve Robert Nairn until age 21. (Gail Walczyk). At a court held by her Majestys Worshipfull Justices of the Peace for Somerset County at Dividing Creek the first Tuesday in March being the second day of the said month 1713/14, Mr. Robert Nearn brought a Negro girl named Mary to be adjudged of her age who is by the court here adjudged ten years of age from this date. On Mar 8 1724 Robert Nairne, Sr., merchant of Pocomoke, for love and affection for son Robert Nairne, plus 8 years of service to me, 200 pounds sterling "which I received of portion of with his mother which sum by contract of marriage I am obliged to make good to one offspring," one equal half of tract "Nairne's Security" of 300A on the Pocomoke River, 50A of "George's Marsh" on ye River and part of "Tersoe," near the south side of my plantation near to "George's Marsh," negro woman Sarah and her son, negro boy, negro man, 6 cattle, 24 sheep, 2 oxen, a Bay horse branded R... ;witnesses John Milbourne, Ralph Milbourne (SoLR-GH:153)

On Mar 8 1724 Robert Nairne, Sr. gave to son James Nairne one equal half of tract "Nairne's Security" of 300A on the Pocomoke River, part of "Tersoe," a small tract "Nairne's Addition" bounded by the Pocomoke River and Sugar Creek, negro woman Molly, boy Harry, and molatto Will Cambridge to be free according to law, 6 cattle, 24 sheep, Bay mare branded R, 7 pillow cases, 2 coarse napkins, 3 coarse towels, 5 sheets, 1 damask towel, 10 damask napkins, 1 chest of "draws," 4 chairs... On March 31, 1724, Robert Nairne deeded for eight years and 200 pounds sterling equal shares of "Nairns Security" to his sons Robert and James, which was 300 acres on the Pocomoke, and 50 acres called "George's Marsh" 'on the river and county road.' (notes of C.H. Marshall, Sr., GH6-15, pp154-155)
