Notes for COL. JOHN THOMPSON: "Through his wife he became possessed of many acres that had formerly belonged to his father-in-law, Augustine Herman, lord of the Manor. Besides these, he had large possessions elsewhere, including a house in New Castle and a farm in New York, which he held in partnership with COLONEL BAYARD. He lived as is supposed, to the advanced age of 109 years, and then died, leaving his eldest son in possession of the property he had inherited from Herman" (Source: Ancient Families of Bohemia Manor, Rev. John Thompson wrote his will Dec 10 1701 and it was proven in Cecil Co. on Jul 4 1702 per the following provisions: - To be buried at the discretion of my loving wife Judith and appoint her to be executrix. - To son Richard, land and plantation in Back Creek in Elk River. - To son John,land and plantation called Corobough and Dunbar. - To son Augustine, 300 acres of land called Middle Plantation? . - To son Robert, all the plantation in Back Creek in Sassafras River and another tract on the Bohemia River called Savins Raft? - To son Augustine, my house at Towne in Sassafras River - To daughter Jeane, house at New Castle and 1/3rd of a farm belonging to Nerw York that J Pearson? cooper hath with Col. Bayard and all the gold I have in my house - all the rest of my goods i give 1/3rd to my wife Elizabeth and 2/3rds to divide among my children equally Witnesses: John Baylor, Christian?
